Marilla Homes (vocals)

Marilla Homes is a versatile performer and teacher and brings some class to the operation. One of Australia's newest crossover artists, she combines the elegance of opera with the earthiness of folk. Marilla has a voice which truly touches the heart - an easy voice to listen to and a difficult one to forget!

Trained as a classical singer, in 2013 Marilla performed the solo opera Elle - Poulenc's La Voix Humaine - with Lyric Opera of Melbourne to great critical acclaim. Her debut album Inner Whirl is still available, after being reprinted and has just released her second album of acappella original songs.

"I have no hesitation in recommending this CD. It showcases a talented performer in a variety of genres and would appeal to most listeners" - John Williams (Inner Whirl review for Trad & Now).

Marilla is a regular at festivals throughout Australia and is planning her first tour of the UK and Ireland in 2014.
